ABOUT US

DentalStudyClubs.com, or DSC, is a member-driven site that allows the creation of specific dental communities for the exchange of knowledge and the betterment of clinical dentistry and practice management.

Individual dentists can peruse our Knowledge Base, a global repository of cases and articles from dentists, dental labs, consultants and manufacturers. Each article is peer-reviewed and ranked according to each reader’s feedback. You can also join a host of local, national, or international peer groups (study clubs – both virtual or real groups), provided those clubs are open to new members. You can even create a virtual “CLUB” between you and the specialist or lab you work closest with to post cases and do treatment planning online. This can all be done securely and privately.

Local dental study clubs can post their meetings, activities, handouts, and discussions in a closed forum. This ensures that you receive advice from trustworthy, known sources—namely the peers you see every month. It also allows you to keep up-to-date on your study club information and activities, even if you miss a meeting or two.

Study Club Managers can use this site to instantly update all of their members on new activities, date and venue changes, and attendance. You can also distribute material before or after a study club meeting, for the benefit of those unable to attend. Most importantly, you won’t have to field phone calls during your production or family hours from study club members wondering where tomorrow’s meeting is, if their friend is attending, who’s speaking… This site handles everything automatically with no hassles.

National and International groups can form around any area of interest. You don’t need to physically meet to be part of a study club, and the knowledge gained from doctors in different regions with different backgrounds could be priceless.

Anybody or any business (vendors, manufacturers, consultants, educators, office team, students, researchers, dental labs, or suppliers) can form a public or private club in minutes. You can use this to share information and discuss issues with like-minded professionals in the topical or geographic range of your choice. [Find out how other dentists in your state are maximizing insurance. Form a national club to share CAD/CAM or laser usage techniques. Create an international study club to analyze different types of implants and implant placement.] The choice is yours and the options are limitless.

Dr. Randall LaFrom, the Founder and President of DentalStudyClubs.com, has been developing dental websites for over a decade. He saw a need for an online study club tool when, as a study club leader, he found himself losing valuable production time to managing his club. He was also frustrated by the repetitive questions and faxed or emailed answers. Dr. LaFrom still practices aesthetic, implant, laser, and CAD/CAM dentistry in Cupertino, California.
